Andrew Theising, author of In The Walnut Grove will be at the Gittemeier House for a book signing on Sunday, August 22 between 2:00 -5:00. In the Walnut Grove, examines the role of slavery in the Florissant Area and is intended to be a start of a new chapter of Florissant history rather than the conclusion of an old one. Bring your own book or purchase one the day of. Enjoy light refreshments and an interesting conversation with the author.  While at the Gittemeier House visit the new Enslaved People of Florissant exhibit. This is a free event although donations of any denomination are always welcomed.
